Gene Coleman, Oradell (NJ) Bergen Catholic, just told me that he will be on campus this weekend. Coleman holds offers at the moment from Syracuse and Rutgers, but is talking with another dozen or so teams. He says, "no new offers right now, expecting a lot to come in soon tho."
Let's run down the relationships of these NJ guys: Coleman is buddies with other players from NJ who hold Syracuse offers, Kolten Huber, KJ Gray and Donald Stewart. Gray and Huber are teammates, and Gray also knows Daivon Ellison and talks with him often. Huber has told me in the past that he likes that Syracuse is interested in so many NJ prospects. Stewart has told me, "my friend Clay Austin runs track for 'Cuse and speaks very highly of the academics and athletics." All of these prospects speak highly of Coach Acosta, love the guy and have great relationships with him.
I had talked about all of these guys in an earlier article I wrote, and I think that if Syracuse can get Gray, they can get all four of them to come.
That makes two NJ players on campus this weekend. Rising QB Anthony Brown will be on campus this Saturday to visit.
Stewart might be making it to campus as well, I have a couple messages out to him.
