To take a look closer at the Hoyas we talked with Ron Bailey of the Georgetown Rivals site.

How has covid impacted the Hoyas?

marginally so far. of course being on a basically empty campus is an impact, as are changes to their lifestyle, but nobody has registered an infection since season started. Ewing emphasized chartering flights as a way to decrease exposure, but they are in a quasi-bubble, which of course is impact. It has also affected their ability to meet this summer/fall, basically forcing them apart until like Oct 1

How has the season gone to date?

Disappointing for some fans. They expected more success. I knew it was a tall order of bringing in like 8 new guys and not meeting until deep into Fall. The season has been marked by lack of focus and collectivity at times. Also, roles are still being learned.

Who is the leader of the Hoyas this year?

That's a big problem. Nobody really. Jahvon Blair is producing more points than anyone, but he's not really a vocal leader guy. Nobody else seems to want that role.

Who are a couple guys SU fans need to watch out for?

Blair, so. C Qudus Wahab, sr. F Jamarko Pickett. Those are the vets Ewing is emploring to do more, consistently. Rookie pg Dante Harris is another one, as the smallish freshman can make the Hoyas dangerous, or mistake them towards defeat, all in the same few plays.

How do you see the game going and who wins?

Georgetown will respond well initially, then could lose a lead, as occurred during the Marquette and 'Nova games. I question whether the Hoyas can be disciplined enough vs that zone, and not break it off and go solo. Lack of quality depth hurts also. Ultimately, I think the hated Cuse prevail by 6 to 8 points.
