I have been extremely busy lately but I wanted to pass along a few little nuggets to you guys that I have come across lately.
As of right now, it is not news to anyone, but Syracuse is not recruiting NYS well. They are getting pieces here and there, but the big names of NYS are not giving Syracuse a consideration.
OL Noah DeHond (NJ) just committed to Clemson last night. He was originally from Aquinas in Rochester and in the class of 2016 before transferring and reclassifying. When he did, he hit the camp circuit and blew up into a 4* prospect. Alabama and Clemson were his finalist and Syracuse did not offer.
The big 3 NYS prospects in the Rivals250, QB Jack Coan, OL Isaiah Wislon, DT Romello Martin, at this time are not giving Syracuse a realistic consideration either, especially Wilson. Both he and Coan have basically told me that they are looking at big time programs. My feel is that Syracuse could make there way into a top 10 for Coan eventually, but nothing serious. Martin is sort of the same, he is not too high on Syracuse at the moment. He might become more of a priority for Syracuse since he is a position of need at DT.
I do not expect Syracuse to get any of those players.
Syracuse however could get involved with, although nothing yet, DE Ethan Wiederkehr.
Syracuse is already recruiting WR Noah Jordan-Williams out of CBA and has a legit chance at landing him.
