Rivals.com Midwest Recruiting Analyst Josh Helmholdt talked briefly about what kind of players Syracuse is getting.

Andrew Armstrong

Armstrong was a guy who flew under the radar for most Power Five schools, but was a guy Babers obviously had his eye on from his time at Bowling Green. He played a lot of safety in high school, but will probably have to move down into the box at the next level.

Joshua Black

Black is an undersized defensive end prospect who has plus-athleticism and is ultra-quick off the snap. He may end up as a situational pass rusher unless he can bulk up and show he can consistently handle the point of attack.

Kendall Coleman

I fully expect we are looking back four years from now and asking why more teams were not on Coleman. He is also undersized, but he has the ability to take over football games. This was a great grab by Babers and Co. who could provide dividends early in his career.

Evan Foster

Foster is a big-framed defensive back who can sit back in centerfield and disrupt passing lanes, or run the alleys and be an asset in run support. He is a big hitter who can put fear in wide receivers coming over the middle.

Sam Heckel

This was a commitment from the previous staff that Babers' group is going to be very happy they were able to hang onto. Heckel plays light on his feet, but also has the ability to control defensive linemen with a strong pair of hands.

Carl Jones

Jones is a versatile prospect who could project to several positions, but his greatest value may be in the fact that the comes from a winning program that regularly produces top talent and gives the Orange another foothold in northeast Ohio.

Liam O'Sullivan

The 6-foot-7 O'Sullivan is a work in progress, but is also a prospect with high upside. At just 240 pounds he is going to need a year or two to bulk up and develop the strength necessary for ACC play, but his athleticism is above average for the position.

Airon Servais

Servais is only just beginning to understand his potential, but he already shows a healthy level of aggression and that is key for offensive linemen. From a size and skill standpoint Servais checks a lot of boxes, he is just going to need some seasoning.

Tim Walton

This was a major flip for Babers and Co. because Walton is the type of linebacker you can build a defense around. The Detroit native is a hitter who can will fill gaps and rack up tons of tackles and should be ready to play early.
