Before the season I said that I would be disappointed if Morris couldn't beat out Gulley for the starting RB slot. I still believe that Morris is a better back. But I am very happy with what they are doing with AAM. Now its time to talk about Erv Phillips. I only saw maybe 10 plays total from him but its very clear this kid has ACC quickness and cutting ability. He seems to have outstanding vision and he makes great reads with where to hit the hole. The bonus is that he is very...very quick and has good speed. The only knock is that he looks a little small but being a freshman he will get bigger..

You put him and Estime in the game at the same time and you have speed and quickness that can beat ACC defenders... With Broyld looking great so far this year.. we really have a shot at being a dynamic offense that might actually put some fear into opposing coaches. I want to see more of Phillips.. just a glimpse has me thinking he might be the most talented back on our team.

I am very excited because we are playing atleast 4 true freshman this year that look like real players ... Our competition hasn't been "top 25" but you can clearly see good talent in some of these young kids.. It makes me feel good about our future... and look out if we can get to 8 W's this year.. the credibility that the staff will have in NJ..Fl...OH and PA.. It will be outstanding.. You can clearly see a recruiting uptick... but if they get to 8 this year... you will see a "jump" next year.. Don't want to put the cart before the horse because the schedule is tough this year... I am just excited to see some of our freshman and the level of talent they have.. I am liking what I am seeing a lot...and we got a ton of quality guys that will be back next year...
